The Weirdest Day

Today has been one of the weirdest days of my life. Well, everyday is weird with me. But today has been especially weird, for some reason. Anyway, let me start explaining in order what happened.

I woke up and did a little school. While I do school, I'm usually on facebook, twitter, and VF. Well, through several websites, I found out something I really wasn't supposed to know. Not bad, just a secret little something. Sorry, but I have to keep it a secret. You most likely wouldn't even care, so lets move on!

Before I left to go get Del Taco for lunch, a drug deal took place right in front of my house. I knew my neighbors did drugs often and buy/sell them, but really? RIGHT in front of my window? I might have to snap a few pictures next time...

So the day goes on, and I head off to work. I'm going down White Lane, right before the freeway, and a wreck happens. A car ran over a motorcycle, and the motorcycle was completely under the car. I passed it before any cops and ambulances were there, but everyone seemed to be fine, and standing on the sidewalk. Glad to see this. Hopefully no serious damage was done.

So I get to work, and I'm on floor. No, that's not the weird part. (A little John's humor there...) The weird part happens when I'm on break. I 'Meal Out' for my 30, and go out to my truck to eat. About 5 minutes before I have to clock back in, I hear a "BANG!" and look up into my rear view mirror. I see a guy by a car, hitting the lock. 2 more "BANGS!" and the thief is in the car, with the alarm sounding. He quickly cuts the wires and the alarm stops. A white car then speeds down the isle, pulls up to the van he broke into, and the guy jumps into the car and they take off. I quickly dial 911 (still sitting in my truck, 1 row over from them..), and begin to explain what happened, where I am, and describe the car and guys. Just then the white car speeds down the isle I was on, and leaves. At this time I'm walking back into work to clock back in so I'm not late. I tell the police department that I work at John's, and they are welcome to come and get me if they need anything. They said they'd send someone out immediately. They did, and thanks to me and another witness, the thieves were caught! It caused quite a stir up at work, but I'm glad no serious damage was done.

This concludes my adventures for today. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. Actually, today, since it's already 12:20. Now, I must get ready for bed. Early day at work tomorrow. Goodnight!

Favorite Restaurants

Here are my top 3 favorite restaurants in my town. My favorites must consist of 3 things- 1. Great food. 2. Amazing atmosphere. 3. Great customer service.

So, if you haven't tried these places yet, you need to! Here they are:

Number 3- Panera Bread

A new place to Bakersfield, Panera is a favorite among most.

All the bread is freshly baked, with leftovers sent to the homeless shelter.

Atmosphere is easy-going, cafe style, smooth and calm. A place you can sit for a few hours, drink coffee, and enjoy amazing sandwiches!

Number 2- Elephant Bar

While Elephant Bar is common and in many different cities and states, it's still a favorite place to visit for some food around the world.

The atmosphere and lighting at night really brings out the adventure, with 'safari' style lights outside. And the luggage above your head in the booths make you wonder where you will be traveling with your favorite dish.

Great food, and if you get the right server, they will talk in different accents. Love it!

And for my all time favorite....

Number 1- Coconut Joe's

Travel to the Hawaiian Islands with this restaurant! With "Disney Status" atmosphere, amazing food (my favorite is the fish and chips, or the Honowoowoo bowl), and entertainment, Coconut Joe's is my all time favorite restaurant here in my town. Have a look at what it has to offer-

While there are many other amazing places to eat, these are just my favorites. Some other great places include Narducci's and Woolgrowers. Bakersfield is famous for Basque food. Pickled tongue, anyone?

Do you have a favorite? Let me know!

Triangle of Life- Earthquake Safety

EXTRACT FROM DOUG COPP'S ARTICLE ON THE: 'TRIANGLE OF LIFE'

> 1) Most everyone who simply 'ducks and covers' WHEN BUILDINGS

>

> 2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal

> The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into

Corrupt Television Shows

Lately there seems to be some pretty corrupt television shows coming out. I should say more corrupt than usual.
Here are a couple:
1. Shit My Dad Says - CBS
2. Sister Wives - TLC
3. Good Christian Bitches - ABC

(There are more out there, these are just off the top of my head.)

Now, the one I am most concerned with is ABC's. In other words- Disney's.
I really don't see the need for these kinds of shows. It is offensive, wrong, and will only encourage further thinking in future shows. This will become normal to society and people won't care. And in today's generations, kids are watching TV all the time, and parents don't care, and don't moderate what shows they can and can't watch. I remember I couldn't watch the Simpsons until I was around 12 or 13! Now, younger kids are watching Family Guy and other shows with cussing, and 'naughty' references. This is sickening.

Apparently the people with morals who watch TV are the minority. And the networks are going for the publicity, and competing to get the most watchers. All I have to say is this: I will not support these shows. I hope you won't either.

If you care to sign a petition boycotting this show, here is the link: http://bit.ly/fVv3WG

*I will warn you- this website that has the boycott is biased toward the Christian religion. So don't get offended if you visit there.

As always, I welcome your thoughts, no matter how much you disagree or agree with me. Feel free to comment on any post, or say your opinions in the Chatbox. No matter where you stand, we are all friends here.

Victorious Faith

Last night, I finished reading "Victorious Faith" by Richard Wurmbrand. Before I write my review on it, I wanted to tell you why I chose to read it.

A few months ago, I stumbled upon a website: www.persecution.com

This website helps Christians around the world, by supporting them, giving them supplies, and comforting them when their families and friends are being slaughtered for being a believer in Christ. It inspired me to sign up for their free monthly newsletter that is mailed to your house.

Over the next few months I read this newsletter. I could never imagine or begin to understand what those people go through. Here in the United States we are allowed to worship and believe freely, and many don't. The rest of the world can not express religious beliefs, and they want to. And those that do often die for it, or are abandoned. This newsletter moved me inside. Deep. I felt for these people. I feel the need to help them. And I do. I started donating to them, and tried to convince my family to help me make parachute packs that would be dropped from a plane into Colombia. (I have not yet made them, but need a few more volunteers to help with the costs and time.)

In this newsletter, they tell about some books they sell. I found "Victorious Faith". It sounded good, and I wanted to know more. So I ordered it, along with a rubber bracelet that says: "Bound With Them. Hebrews 13:3".

Victorious Faith is a book composed by Richard Wurmbrand, who has been in jail many, many years throughout his life for being a Christian. He has helped the Christian community across the world with under-ground Bible studies, and has written many books. He passed in 2001.

This book isn't organized by chapters, there is no formal way to approach it. You can start at page 50, 43, or 1. It's just stories. Some short, some long. Some a sentence, some three pages. But these stories are helpful. It really gives a philosophical approach to everyday reading, and Mr. Wurmbrand really thinks backwards (in a good way) about things.

I have been a Christian most of my life, and I truly do believe in God and what he has done. However, reading Christian literature helps any Believer, and helps you express yourself better, and helps you think of new ideas and ways for everyday living.

I recommend reading "Victorious Faith". It's not too long, and really doesn't take much time. But be prepared to think a little. Overall, it is a good book.

But if you don't want to read it, I ask just one favor of you. Sign up for the FREE monthly newsletter on persecution.com. I have done it for many months now, I promise it is 100% free. You don't have to donate, buy it, or anything. The newsletter is so informative on what Christians are doing around the world. I promise, you will be inspired.

Trusting in God, I can proudly say I would die a martyrs death for him. What do Christians have to fear? Nothing.

Will Donald Trump Be Our Next President?

"In a recent interview with Newsmaxtv, Donald Trump announced his strong intentions to run as a Republican candidate for the next presidential election. Trump stated that he is ''seriously thinking about it,'' and plans on making his formal announcement in June of this year.

Trump, who prides himself on being a true patriot, gave a laundry list of seriously disturbing issues he feels are destroying the country. These catastrophic problems which Trump claims will only continue to get worse under our current administration, combined with his sincere love for the United States, are the two major reasons he gave for considering this bold venture. Trump believes he can provide the necessary leadership and answers to solve these problems and make America the economic powerhouse it once was before it's too late." (Source: http://bit.ly/fmIUh0 )

This is very interesting. I heard this rumor about a year ago, but never thought it was true. And from past experiences, celebrities as a representative of something in high power usually doesn't turn out too good. And it seems as though more celebrities are running for offices. Perhaps they think it will be easy to get elected, since they already have the money and fans.

However, I personally hope Donald runs for President. I feel he has the knowledge to do a great job. He has common sense, and he knows how to make money and control finances. Something our country needs terribly. (I still wonder why more people aren't worried about our national debt.)

Mr. Trump also knows how to run a company. Several, actually. And he knows about America. He is a smart man. And a good influence. Let's just say I'd vote for him. I think a lot of people would. I honestly think he could turn this country around and do some great, great things.

But that's just my opinion.

What's yours?

Summer is in the Air

I may have a cold, but part of this is allergies. I know every year that when my bad allergies hit, summer is around the corner. That, and the sun was out today. It was actually a beautiful, warm day today. I can't wait for summer. We've had so much rain this year it's crazy. I'm ready to go swimming, to BBQ, to relax and enjoy the long sunny days and cool nights with friends. I'm excited to see all the trees and bushes start to bloom. Ah, summer. What could be better?

Finally! New Design!

So I had some spare time, and I thought I'd update my blog a bit. Things from colors, fonts, gadgets, etc. It's been a long while since I did some major work on it. I'm excited, and I think it looks nice! I'm especially loving the Chatbox!

Anyway, feel free to comment or send a message in the Chatbox saying if you like the new changes or not. And don't forget to take the survey!

Thanks for your support in reading what I have to write, even if I don't blog a ton. I'm going to start posting more frequently, but school and work easily gets in my way.

Thanks again,
