Just Pray

It's not a secret. It's a hard time right now. For everyone that I know. And if I may, I'm asking for your prayers.

Pray for those trying to find jobs. I am, and a few of my friends are unemployed and currently job searching.

Pray for those relationships that are rocky right now. There's more than one in my close circle of friends and family. And I'm sure you know of a few also.

Pray for those making changes in their lives- New cities, new jobs, new friends, etc.

Everything is up in the air right now for so many people. It's affected me, family, friends, and I know some people you know as well.

No matter what it is, just pray for them. There's hope for everyone, we may just not be able to find it just yet.

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

A Quick Note on Today's Tragedy

First off, I'd like to send my condolences to the families that were effected by the shootings in Colorado. It really is a horrible thing that I wish no one had to face.

But I must say something that's been on my mind... Not to go all religious on you, but every time something like this happens, I can't help but think this is nothing compared to what's to come. We know the World will, and is getting worse. That's not a secret to any religion. And this is a minor thing compared to what will happen in the next 100 years or so. It's just going to get worse and worse, and events like this will become very common.

Apparently this horrible shooter is calling himself the "Joker". I'm not blaming the Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises/Batman in general for this, but with all these TV shows and movies of killing people, it definitely gives you some ideas. I love watching Criminal Minds, but from watching it I've realized some different ways to carry out murders and crimes that I would never have thought of doing before. It gives people ideas, and makes it seem so fun to do. Not saying it should go away, just throwing the obvious out there that people will try to imitate things seen on television. But if your that crazy to try something like this, something isn't right in your head and it doesn't really matter what's on TV or not.

And lastly, some are complaining that this is a reason to control guns. Being very pro-gun, I'm going to argue that point. If more people were allowed to, or cared to own guns and carry them, then soon as this guy started shooting some guests could have shot back. It's self defense. People won't attack people as much if they know there's a pretty good chance they might have a gun and will fire back. That's one reason why Japan didn't come on shore during the attack on Pearl Harbor, because they knew behind most doors in the United States they had guns, and would use them if it came to it. It definitely goes both ways- crazy people like this mad man would get guns, but also, down to earth people would have them as well.

Just a few thoughts. It boils down to this- There are freaking crazy people all around us, and precautions must be taken. Watch your back.

Small Short Tiny Little Update

We've been moving ALL day now, and also last night. My hands are numb, feet aching, overall we are all exhausted. We have a little more to go from Patrick's old apartment to this new one. Hopefully it will get done quick, and then we can sleep.

Parents came by this morning and helped. They like it, and it was nice seeing them here. Sadly, I had to say goodbye, and hope they will be back soon.

But I'm also excited, because my bro Jake is coming tonight, instead of just tomorrow. I'm happy we get to spend some time together, since we won't see each other every other day practically like before. But who knows, he may be down here also in a year.

Room is looking more like home, and everything is coming along. I'm looking forward to next week- Job hunting, school, and getting my feel around the town. (In other words- getting lost until I find where I am.)

Talk to ya soon-

Taking a Quick Break

I'm currently sitting in my messy room, taking a break from packing and eating lunch. I can't believe I move tomorrow. This has come so incredibly fast. I'm pretty much feeling every emotion about it, and in all honesty, I just want to be settled and done. Moving is pretty stressful stuff. Especially on 3 hours of sleep.

Well anyway, just wanted to post a quick update on things. Everything is coming along, and I need to finish packing before I head over to my second family's house tonight for dinner and goodbyes.

Not sure when I'll post again... But it will probably be at my new place.

Until then,

Have a very happy and safe Fourth of July-

It's A Great Day At Chick-Fil-A

"It's A Great Day At Chick-Fil-A" was the phrase that was passed down to me from Megan, my former co-worker before she moved to Texas. Since then, I carried that phrase on whenever I greeted guests at the Drive-Thru speaker.

My time has run its course at Chick-Fil-A. Now, I'm not gonna go into a whole lot of detail like I did with my John's Incredible Pizza post. I'm going to keep it short and sweet- Although I always didn't see eye-to-eye with some people there, I'm glad I was given the experience and opportunity to work there.

I really did meet some incredible people that made me laugh and enjoy my shifts. And in the beginning, I got to work alongside my brother, who helped get me this job in the first place.

My twin and I, confusing guests at front counter.
I grew up always saying I would NEVER work in a fast-food restaurant. But as it turns out, I ended up liking it. Too much.

I will say, I do think the CFA of Bakersfield needs a little bit of help, and I really hope these changes coming soon will make things better, and the employees happier. I'm a firm believer that you should love your job. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, I understand. But don't make something that you hate your life. There's so much more to life than that.

I want to thank every one of you who I was able to work with. I've said my whole life that every person I encounter inspires me in some way. And that's still true. Through this job I've learned, I've grown, and I was able to get more experience in various things that will last a lifetime.

Thank you guys, I wish you the best, and may our paths cross again in the future.
